SocioBiblog: Enabling Communication on Bibliography with Semantic Blogging

   InProceedings
author: Aman Shakya, Hideaki Takeda, Vilas Wuwongse, Ikki Ohmukai
abstract: Sharing of information about publications is very important in a research community. The paper describes a system which demonstrates how semantic blogging can be used for the purpose. It incorporates SWRC ontology into blogging for entering metadata about publications; facilitates commenting on publications and provides a decentralized aggregation mechanism to aggregate publications in the community. RSS aggregation has been extended to handle metadata in BuRST feeds. The system uses FOAF links of authors and friends to explore the social network of the research community and gather RSS/BuRST feeds.

A Publication Aggregation System Using Semantic Blogging

   InProceedings
author: Aman Shakya, Hideaki Takeda, Ikki Ohmukai, Vilas Wuwongse
abstract: Researchers need to share information about their publications. They also desire to share opinions and comments about each other’s publications. The paper describes a system which demonstrates how semantic blogging can be used for the purpose. The SWRC ontology has been incorporated in the blogging system for entering the metadata of publications. The semantic blogging system provides means to annotate publications. The system is a decentralized publication aggregation system. It utilizes the RSS technology to aggregate posts. The publication metadata is embedded in the RSS to produce BuRST feed. The RSS aggregator has been extended to handle the BuRST feeds. The system uses the FOAF links of the authors and friends to explore the social network of the research community for aggregation of relevant information.

Semantic Wiki as an Integrated Content and Metadata Management System

   InProceedings
author: Muljadi Hendry, Hideaki Takeda
abstract: For the development of technologies for Semantic Web, machine-understandable metadata such as RDF is essential. Constructing RDF triples in a Wiki environment can be done by enabling the writing of labeled links. The labeled link represents the RDF property that links the RDF subject with its object. In a Semantic Wiki environment, users can write and edit RDF triples even though users have no knowledge about it. Semantic Wiki can be used for lightweight metadata management, and is useful to bridge the gap between non-technical users and Semantic Web technology.
